How Fast can you Type? Try Beating the Pro Typers at Keybr

keybrIf you think you can type fast, I suggest you to join in the fun and compete with other pro typers at Keybr and see whether you can beat them. But if you're the opposite who can't type fast, you can still practice your touch typing with Keybr which is a free and easy-to-use Flash-based Web tool that helps you with typing skills.

Keybr lets you select the language preference, keyboard layout, level of difficulty and text source such as random text, custom text or even from a website. As you type, it shows you the speed of your typing in words per minute and the number of errors you get. After you've finished your typing, you can view your performance in graphs.

If you type fast enough, maybe around 100+ words per minute, you may probably be included in the high scores. Keybr doesn't requires registration for practicing touch typing but if you want to be included into the list of top 20 users, you'd have to sign up for an account.

While learning to type gibberish quickly may increase your typing skills, it certainly will NOT increase your ability to pick up errors. You will simply get used to seeing letters where they do not belong, and are less likely to catch them. Of course, spell check will help with that, but it won't pick up correctly spelled words. There is a big difference between "this" and "his", for example.

I disagree burnman. I think it will help your typing skills. The only issue I have with the site is that you don't have to correct your errors. I think that feature could be helpful.
